Prickly Pear Margarita

Equipment

  • shaker
  • margarita glass or rocks glass

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco
  • ½ oz triple sec
  • 1 oz prickly pear syrup
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • lime wedge (for rim & optional garnish)
  • tajín (for rim)
  • ice

Instructions

  • Add the tequila, triple sec, prickly pear syrup, and lime juice to a shaker with ice and shake for 10 seconds.
  • Prepare the glass by rubbing the lime wedge along the rim. Dip the rim into the tajín to coat it. Add ice to the glass.
  • Strain the mixture into the glass. Add optional lime wedge garnish.

Notes

  • I like to use the Monin prickly pear syrup for this cocktail. It has a deep purple hue and sweet taste.
