Add the rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to a shaker filled with ice and shake for 10 seconds.
Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with ice.
Top with club soda.
Add 3-5 dashes of bitters.
Add pineapple and cherry garnish if desired.
